Professor Jaco Hoffman, DPhil (Oxon), is socio-gerontologist and leader of the Optentia Research Focus Area sub-programme: Ageing and Generational Dynamics in Africa (AgenDA) at North-West University (Vaal Triangle Campus) as well as James Martin Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, Oxford University, UK. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Ageing in Africa, University of Cape Town. He furthermore coordinates the African Research on Ageing Network (AFRAN) and is a Board Member of the South African Care Forum (SACF) as well as a past President of the South African Gerontological Association (SAGA). Jaco co-directs with Sebastiana Kalula (UCT) the International Longevity Centre (ILC) – South Africa.
