Nopasika (Fido) Maforah is a Senior Lecturer in Research and Management in the Department of Social Work at the North West University. She has travelled extensively as a visiting research fellow and has presented papers at local and international seminars and conferences since 1985. Fidelia was a senior executive manager in the public sector, where she led a number of international delegations, including the World Summit for Social Development (WSSD). She also initiated poverty and community development programmes aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged communities in this country.
She has consulted widely for national and international agencies. Fido was part of the core task-team responsible for piloting and implementing the Community Capacity Building Programme (CCE) in South Africa and neighbouring countries in the region. This, and other community initiatives, prompted her involvement in the we-DELIVER project.
