Shingairai Chigeza holds a PhD in Psychology and is a registered Research Psychologist with the Health Professions council of South Africa (HPCSA). To date she has published and presented papers on national and international levels and contributed to a chapter in a book. She also serves as a reviewer for international and national journals. Her research publications and presentations are embedded in the field of community psychology, social psychology and relational psychology on topics related to migration, homelessness and intergenerational relationships.
Her research is entrenched in relational and community psychology theoretical frameworks which informs her views, that pattern of relationships that emerge among people can be understood from different contexts and their needs in communities. Hence her research focuses on promoting the well-being of all generations within their families and communities in various contexts through interactional intergenerational interventions.
